Reading the Torah: Beyond the Fundamentalist and Scientific Approaches, has been selected for the French Voices Award presented by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and the PEN American Center.
The book, by Catherine Chalier and translated by Michael B. Smith, will be published in April 2017.
The French Voices awards are supported by the FACE Foundation, the Florence Gould Foundation, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy to support the highest quality translations from French into English of "books representing the very best of contemporary French writing in every field." The 11 books chosen this year will be honored in a formal ceremony in New York on February 24.
